LaPine Oregon Project / Doug Steidl's Shop / March 2012

In spite of bad weather conditions, we have been making good progress on the new shop for Doug Steidl. We expect to have the building completely closed in by the end of next week, providing the weather cooperates and if it doesn't we'll keep marching forward anyway.

By utilizing the excess concrete we were able to fill the foundation holes almost to the top.
Jim AKA Sam Elliott notching a post. This is the first time we've actually seen him wear gloves. Good job Jim!
This framing style is unique to Hansen Buildings.
Side shed framing
All of Hansen buildings use hurricane ties. This adds extra strength for building sheer and uplift.
All posts are notched, instead of putting a scab 2" x 6" on the side of the post to hold the roof load.

LaPine Oregon Project / Doug Steidl's Shop / Week of March 12-16

The weather was quite challenging this week. You know what they say, "The weather in Central Oregon can change in a blink of an eye". That it did!! In-spite of the bad weather we managed to keep pressing forward. Everything is looking good!
